A Bangladesh plane carrying 67 passengers onboard crashed on Monday in a football pitch near Kathmandu airport.
The plane crashed while trying to land at Kathmandu airport.
Number of casualties is yet to be ascertained. However, 20 passengers have been rescued as firefighters battled to extinguish the burning wreckage and rescue more passengers.
“There were 67 passengers and 4 crew members aboard the plane.
“So far 20 injured have been taken to the hospital. Police and army are trying to cut apart the plane to rescue others.
“We are trying to bring the fire under control. Details are awaited,the airport had been shut down and all other flights diverted.
“We’re now concentrating on evacuating the passengers.” Airport spokesman Prem Nath Thakur confirmed to CBS.
