Cristiano Ronaldo Makes Bet With His Teammates Over Winning This Award

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly made a bet with his Real Madrid team-mates, that he will finish this season as the top scorer in Spain.
Ronaldo continued his superb scoring streak on Sunday night, with four goals in their 6-3 victory over Girona.
The Portuguese has now netted in eight straight games in all competitions and has 18 goals in his last nine La Liga outings.
As at November 5, Ronaldo had just one goal having played seven league games, while his rival Lionel Messi was 11 ahead of him.
At this point, according to Marca, Ronaldo made a bet with his Real team-mates.
Ronaldo is said to have bet that he would finish the season in possession of LaLiga’s Golden Boot.
After his four-goal haul at the weekend, the 33-year-old is second in the race for the top-scorer’s gong in Spain — one ahead of Luis Suarez and three behind Messi.
Both Real and Barca have nine league matches remaining, including May’s Clasico at the Nou Camp

‘Pogba Is NOT Happy At Manchester United’- France National Team Coach

Head coach of France national team, Didier Deschamps, has said Paul Pogba “cannot be happy” with his current situation at Manchester United.
Pogba, who has been called up by Deschamps for France’s upcoming friendlies against Colombia and Russia, has missed several important games for United in recent weeks.
The 25-year-old did not feature when Jose Mourinho’s side beat Liverpool in the Premier League, came on as a late substitute in the Champions League defeat to Sevilla and was absent against Brighton in the FA Cup.
“This is a situation that he must not appreciate because of everything he would have been able to offer. There must be numerous reasons.
“He cannot be happy with what he is going through with his club,” Deschamps told L’Equipe.
There are reports that his agent, Mino Raiola, is hawking his clients to top European clubs ahead of the summer window.

Barcelona Star Lionel Messi Reveals Why He Vomits On The Pitch

Lionel Messi has revealed that a change in his diet is the reason he no longer gets sick and vomits on the pitch during games.
The Barcelona forward admitted in 2014 that it happened to him “all the time”, after vomiting while playing an international friendly with Argentina.
“I ate badly for many years: chocolates, fizzy drinks, and everything.
“That is what made me throw up during games. Now I look after myself better. I eat fish, meat, salads. Everything is organised and taken care of,” Messi told La Cornisa TV.
There had been concerns that Messi might have an illness, or was suffering from stress.
“I’ve learnt to live the way I do, to be myself because at the end of the day it’s easier to do it that way,” the 30-year-old added. “I don’t think too much about how I have to act because of constantly being watched. I’m aware that whenever I speak there are many people that listen, that there are repercussions. I always try to think about what I say in order not to generate controversies,” he added.

The camp came to live Monday night with the arrival of the players.
Other players who made the camp on Monday were Leon Balogun, Brian Idowu as revealed by the official Twitter account of the team.
The tweet said, “Our camp ahead of Friday’s pre World Cup friendly vs Poland at the Municipal Stadium, Wroclaw, Poland opened today.
“Troost Ekong, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Tyronne Ebuehi, Brian Idowu and Leon Balogun were the early ‘eagles’.

Floyd Mayweather Plans To Buy Cristiano Ronaldo when he takes over Wnen he takes over Newcastle

Boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather Jnr, has said he is looking to buy Premier League club, Newcastle United.
Mayweather retired last year, after ending his glittering career with a 50-0 record, following his TKO victory over UFC star, Conor McGregor.
The American earned in excess of $100million for that bout and is now ready to invest some of it in football.
Newcastle have been on the market since last October, with Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley keen to walkaway from the club.
“You better believe if I were to invest in Newcastle I would be back partying there often.
“I love Newcastle. Those guys like to party as hard as any city I have been to anywhere in the world. I met some of the players last year – and they are good guys. I am always open to new business opportunities and I love all sports, but I invest with my head not my heart.
“Investing with your heart is the quickest way to lose money. But if somebody put together a business plan and my people looking over it and went ‘Floyd that can make money’ then I would invest. Soccer might not be my game but I’ve got connections everywhere.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has been a long-time supporter and buddy of mine, so I might even be able to get him to finish his career off at Newcastle,” Mayweather told the Daily Star Sunday.

Chelsea Boss Confesses they will suffer against Barcelona

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has admitted his team does not have enough experience to replicate Juventus’ comeback against Tottenham last week, when they take on Barcelona on Wednesday in the Champions League.
The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Stamford Bridge and travel to Spain knowing they have to score, like Conte’s former club Juventus did when they won 2-1 at Wembley.
But the Italian is not optimistic of causing an upset against the LaLiga leaders.
“Don’t forget you are talking about a team with many players with great experience.
“We don’t have this experience and you have to build this experience over the years. Juventus showed great resilience, they suffered a lot and in the right mind they killed Tottenham.
“But I repeat: in the team there are many players with great experience and many players who won the Champions League in the past or played in a final of the Champions League.
“Experience is always important. This Chelsea team has not got great experience, not many players with great experience, because this team lost a lot of old players with great experience.
“Now we have many players who need experience. Andreas Christensen, Tiemoue Bakayoko. We have to work as a team and try to be ready.
“We must be prepared to suffer in this type of game, because when you play against this type of team, one of the best teams in the world, you must be prepared to suffer. It won’t be easy,” Conte said.

Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger Speaks On Petr Cech’s 200th Clean Sheet

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has hailed the club goalkeeper, Petr Cech for becoming the first English Premier League (EPL) shot stopper to reach a remarkable 200th clean sheet in the 3-0 win against Watford on Sunday.
Cech saved a second-half Troy Deeney penalty, his first since joining Arsenal in 2015 to secure a landmark 200th EPL clean sheet.
Goals from Shkodran Mustafi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan wrapped up a fairly comfortable win over the Hornets.
Wenger piled up praise for his goalkeeper and his “remarkable” achievement.
“The record is absolutely remarkable,” Wenger told Sky Sports.
“It shows fantastic motivation and a fantastic desire to always be the best. It also shows remarkable intelligence because without remarkable intelligence you don’t last in the game, because you have to deal with so many different problems.
“Congratulations to him,” he said.

Mesut Ozil Breaks Cantona’s Assists Record In The Premier League

Mesut Ozil’s assist for Shkodran Mustafi during Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Watford on Sunday, was his 50th in the Premier League.
Ozil reached the landmark in only 141 matches, breaking Eric Cantona’s all-time record in the division.
Former Manchester United forward Cantona reached the same number in 143 games.
It was Ozil’s third assist in two games, after he set up both goals in Arsenal’s 2-0 Europa League win at AC Milan on Thursday.
Mustafi’s goal, which came eight minutes into the game, was also Arsenal’s 1,000th in the Premier League.
The win is the first in four league fixtures for the Gunners and takes them to 48 points in sixth place.

Referee Kills Player During A Football Match

A referee, Benjamin Foster, is facing murder charges after football players allegedly forced him to kill a member of the opposing team in southern Malawi, police said Friday.
He was overseeing a football match between two local teams, Billiat FC and Chilengo FC, in the town of Thyolo on Wednesday, when Chilengo FC players refused to accept the referee’s decision to invalidate a goal, district police spokesman, Benjamin Foster told dpa.
In the ensuing scuffle, the referee fled to a nearby house, which the players lit to smoke him out, according to Foster.
When the referee ran out of the burning building, the players forced him to smack a Billiat FC player repeatedly with a stick, the spokesman said.
The player later died of injuries in hospital, added Foster.
“The referee turned himself over. He is facing murder charges,” he said.

[Goals Highlight] Rashford Scores Twice As Manchester United Beat Liverpool 2-1 In The Premier League

Marcus Rashford emphatically marked his return to Manchester United’s starting XI with a double in a huge 2-1 Premier League victory over rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Saturday.
In the line-up for the first time since Boxing Day as Jose Mourinho made three changes with Paul Pogba ruled out through injury, Rashford scored a first-half brace to boost United’s hopes of finishing second to runaway leaders Manchester City.
The England international ended a run of 10 Premier League matches without a goal to send United five points clear of third-placed Liverpool in the 200th competitive meeting between the sides, though Tottenham could close to within four by beating Bournemouth on Sunday.

Another Tragedy As 18-Year Old French League Football Defender Dies

French Ligue 2 side FC Tours have announced that defender Thomas Rodriguez has died at the age of 18.
No details have been given about how the full-back died other than it happened sometime between the evening of Thursday, 8 March and the following morning.
A minute’s silence will be held before all Ligue 1 and 2 games this weekend.
Rodriguez’s death comes five days after Fiorentina captain Davide Astori died suddenly.
“Tours FC is shattered by this tragedy, which plunges the club into immense sadness,” the club said in a statement.
“The club extends its deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, all of Thomas’s team-mates and friends, and gives them all their support in these difficult times.

Dortmund Star Marco Reus Signs New Contract Until 2023

Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus has signed a new contract with the Bundesliga club.
The Germany international, 28, has been linked with several top European clubs in his career, but is now committed to Dortmund until 2023.
He has made 196 appearances since joining the club in 2012, but has suffered a number of long-term injuries in recent seasons.
Last month, Reus returned after almost eight months out with a knee injury.
He captained the side in his comeback against Hamburg and has since scored in three consecutive games.
Reus said the decision to extend his contract was a “thank you” to the club’s “fantastic fans”.
“The fact that the club have repeatedly helped me in less than perfect times has also had a positive effect on my decision,” he added.
Reus has twice been named Bundesliga player of the year and won the German Cup with Dortmund last season.
He has 29 caps for his country but missed the 2014 World Cup, which Germany won, because of injury.

‘The BIGGEST Game I Can Imagine’- Jurgen Klopp On Man United vs Liverpool Today

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has described Saturday’s Premier League fixture at Manchester United as “the biggest game I can imagine”.
The Reds go into the match at Old Trafford two points behind United, knowing a victory will mean they climb above Jose Mourinho’s team into second.
However, the Anfield side are 18 points behind runaway leaders Manchester City.
“I’m looking forward to it,” said Klopp. “We need to be at 100% – if not even a few more.”
While the fixture is unlikely to directly impact on the title race, it does still carry huge historical importance for supporters of English football’s two most successful clubs.
Both are also still involved in the Champions League, with United hoping to progress past Sevilla next week to join Liverpool in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.

‘Man United NOT Getting The Best Out Of Alexis Sanchez’- Jose Mourinho

Manchester United are not getting the best out of Alexis Sanchez, says manager Jose Mourinho.
Chile international Sanchez, 29, joined in January from Arsenal on a four-and-half-year contract in a swap deal with midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
But the forward has scored only once in eight appearances since arriving at Old Trafford.
“He is learning how to play with us and we are learning how to get the best out of him,” said Mourinho.
The difficulties of integrating a player midway through the season mean Mourinho is not a fan of the January transfer market.
“What is wrong is that he came at the worst moment of the season, in the winter market,” the Portuguese said.
“That’s why I don’t like the winter market very much. I think [signing Sanchez] was a chance that we didn’t want to lose and we made it, but we don’t believe a lot in the winter market.
“For sure next season will be better for him.”

See what Barcelona Coach has to say about Neymar's possible return to the club

Barcelona coach, Ernesto Valverde has waved aside reports suggesting that Neymar could leave Paris Saint-Germain and return to the Catalan giants.
Only seven months after he joined the club for a world record 222million euros ($264 million), Neymar´s future has grown uncertain in the French capital.
Spanish sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims the Brazilian has made contact with Barca to ask how he can engineer a return.
The article adds Neymar has explained he made a mistake in leaving the club.
Asked about the reports on Friday, Valverde said, “It seems to me a fantasy and we do not know where it came from or where it will end.
“It is a fantasy and we are not going to speak about rumours when we know it would not end here.”

Mohamed Salah Can't Wait to Score Against Manchester United

Mohamed Salah told Jamie Carragher he wants to complete his record of scoring against every other top-six Premier League side when Liverpool head to Manchester United on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.
The Egypt international is the league’s joint-top scorer alongside Harry Kane with 24 goals, and strikes against Manchester City, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal have helped Salah reached that impressive tally.
Salah, 25, may have reached that mark after just 28 league games, but the blank he drew in October’s stalemate against Manchester United – which featured a stunning David de Gea stop to deny Joel Matip – still lingers in his mind.
Ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Old Trafford, Salah told Carragher he is “excited” to face United in his bid to secure a top-six clean sweep when it comes to goals.
“I remember it [De Gea’s save]. I also missed an easy chance in that game, but he is great,” Salah said.
“Before the game you have to prepare yourself for the game, and you see the weakness of the players or the goalkeeper, and you have to try many times to break that and to score and to do something different.
“But we know we play against Manchester [United] and De Gea. He is a great goalkeeper and this is the only team I did not score against in the top six this season, so I will try.
“I try to look for a goal in any game I play. I thought already about that and I’m very excited to play in that game because this is the only team in the top six I didn’t score against. Only Manchester [United]!”

AC Milan Boss Gattuso Speaks On 2-0 Loss To Arsenal In San Siro

AC Milan manager, Gennaro Gattuso says his mistake caused his side’s loss against Arsenal.
After four consecutive defeat, the Gunners bounced back and produced a spectacular display on Thursday night in the first leg of their last-16 Europa League match against Milan at the San Siro as they won 2-0.
Goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey gave Arsenal the deserved victory.
Gattuso, believes technical mistakes made the Rossoneri to lose the game against the North London club.
When asked whether his side were outdone by the Gunners’ change in formation, Gattuso told reporters after the game: “No, it was actually what I had expected.
“It was 4-2-3-1; the usual squad filled in the usual way Arsenal plays.
“For sure, we suffered for the fact that technically, we made mistakes that actually followed us through the field.
“We had some difficulties with what they were going through but it’s not because they played in an unexpected because they played as usual and they have very good quality.”
He added, “I probably also made some mistakes not making myself well understood but we did suffer.

Statistics behind Arsenal's worst-ever season under Wenger

The Gunners have endured a truly horrendous run of form, and the numbers prove just how bad this campaign has been at the Emirates Stadium
It’s all falling apart for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger.
Under the Frenchman, the Gunners have endured unfathomable highs and degrading lows, but they have never been quite this terrible at this part of the season.
Mathematically out of the Premier League title race, the Gunners are sixth, and have lost four times in a row, leaving them a mammoth 33 points behind Manchester City.
The 'Wenger Out' brigade is more vocal than ever, and it is perhaps unsurprising that the stats prove that the Gunners are enduring their worst ever season under the Frenchman.

STANDINGS

Arsene Wenger Arsenal
After 29 games of the Premier League season, Arsenal have won 13, drawn six and lost 10 of their encounters. They have 45 points, and a goal difference of 11.
Only twice in Premier League history have Arsenal been in a worse position at this stage of the season - in 1992-93, when they had just 39 points, and in 1994-95, when they had 37. In those seasons, Arsenal finished 10th and 12th.
Since then, they have never finished below fifth, though they did manage to finish fourth in 2005-06 with only two more points than they currently have after 29 games.
It is in stark contrast to the glory days under Wenger. In 2002-03 - the famous Invincible season - Arsenal had 73 points after 29 games, only five fewer than Pep Guardiola's magnificent Manchester City have now.
Indeed, Arsenal's current points total of 45, coupled with City's tally of 78, marks the farthest behind the leaders the Gunners have ever been at this stage of the season.
Amazingly, they are currently closer to rock-bottom West Brom (a difference of 25 points) than the champions-elect.

DEFEATS

Mesut Ozil Kevin de Bruyne Arsenal Manchester City
Arsenal have already lost 10 games this season, just one defeat shy of the most games they have ever lost in a whole season under Wenger's management, in the 2005-06 season.
The Gunners would need to lose seven more times to equal their worst ever Premier League season for defeats, which came in the woeful 1994-95 campaign, while they lost 16 times in 1992-93.
Wenger's men have also lost eight times on the road, with their defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend coming off the back of previous losses to Tottenham, Swansea City, Bournemouth, Manchester City, Watford, Liverpool and Stoke City.
They have only suffered more defeats away from home under Wenger once, in 2005-06, when they lost nine times. The 1992-93 season featured nine away losses, while 1994-95 saw 11.

GOALS CONCEDED

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang Arsenal
Arsenal have never conceded as many goals as they have at this stage of the season before.
While the Gunners' defence used to be miserly and proud of it, this time around they have conceded 41 goals in 29 games, two more than they had let in at this stage of the 2011-12 season. They would eventually finish third in that campaign.
This defence has history that would suggest it is in need of reinforcement, however, with the Gunners conceding 36 goals in 29 games in the 2016-17 season, when they finished fifth.

MISTAKES

Petr Cech Arsenal Brighton
Arsenal's players may deserve just as much flak as their under-fire manager, as they have made their fair share of errors this season.
Indeed, the Gunners have made more errors leading to shots than any other team, with a staggering number of 27 - five more than Southampton and eight more than Huddersfield Town. Burnley rank lowest in the list, with just five errors.
It is perhaps unsurprising, therefore, that the Gunners have also made more errors leading to goals than any other club in the Premier League, with 13, four more than Southampton.
Petr Cech was hailed as a truly excellent signing when he arrived from Chelsea, but he too has been sucked into the mire in north London, and it is perhaps time for Wenger to drop the Czech goalkeeper
He has made six errors leading to goals this season and has also made seven errors leading to shots - both place him at the top of the respective stat lists.
Granit Xhaka, meanwhile, has made four errors leading to shots and three leading to goals. No other team has such a bumbling duo. Hector Bellerin, too, has made four mistakes leading to shots.
Amazingly, Cech has been waiting since December's 1-0 success over Newcastle United to record his 200th clean sheet, and it shows no signs of coming any time soon.
